Junior High
The Transformation
“Having questions is a mark of humanity.”
DEVELOPING UNDERSTANDING—In Junior High, students move from knowing facts to wrestling with ideas and asking meaningful questions. They learn why things matter, testing logic, examining perspectives, and developing discernment through discussion and analysis. This stage invites students to explore why God has placed them at this moment in history, cultivating clarity, conviction, and thoughtful understanding.

Students participate in approximately four elective courses each year, rotating through a curated sequence focused on practical skills, creativity, leadership, and real-life experiences. While the 2026–2027 elective schedule is still being finalized, electives are structured so students experience the full range over their junior high years, ensuring broad exposure and well-rounded development rather than individual course selection.

Awaken Academy takes a whole-student approach to assessment in the Junior High years. While the Academy does not award traditional grades or maintain official academic records, we provide structured feedback and scored evaluations on select projects, assignments, and assessments to help families clearly understand student progress. Our three-part assessment approach captures academic skills, developmental and practical understanding, and character and citizenship, equipping parents to confidently partner in documenting growth while honoring each student’s unique strengths and development.
